PEN FETISH!!!!

Well hello there WOYWW’s it is a few weeks since I was here – lots been going on in my life some good and I am afraid some bad.

First of all the bad my oldest and best friend of 38 years died. I had known my wonderful friend Helen since my first day at senior school. Helen was my bridesmaid and she was my daughter’s god mother. She had been a crafter for a few years too but sadly we never did craft together. She lost her fight with pancreatic cancer on the 17th November she was a strong inspirational loving friend and Mum she was a wonderful brave lady. I will miss her soo much.*Life is too short, be happy in everything you do and live life to the full.*

The Good I have been doing a mural of Nemo for a little boy and it is now finished he loves it and I loved doing it – hope you like it, it took me a couple of weeks –an hour here and an hour there.

Over to my desk as it is today It Is Tidy!!! only because I have been making christmas cards and presents recently so on my desk are a couple I made yesterday the books are covered in embossed grung paper and coloured with Pro markers and then smooshed with Stazon.

In the background you will be able to see on show (now my secret is out!!!!) I have my new storage for my pen fetish!!! I saw this idea a few weeks ago on a few peoples blogs sorry not sure who’s. I thought I would have a go at making some storage for my vast amount of pens in my collection the unit and cd cases are from Tesco the unit should have been £9.99 but it is damaged on the back so I got it for £4 (bargain).

Not all of the Pro Markers are mine I share them with my daughter but all the others are mine all mine!!

Have a lovely day folks and keep warm. Thanks for visiting my blog today I will try and get around to as many of your lovely desks today on WOYWW and if I don’t I am sorry.

For anyone blog hopping who does not know what WOYWW is pop over to Julia’s stamping ground and see what everyone is talking about, and visit some fantastic peoples work.

WOYWW

Morning all and I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are doing. Thank you to all that came to my blog last week and left me some lovely comments. All my Pasyishes are done now so I can let my creative juices go wild and not be stunted in doing other peoples style. I can take it easy for the next couple of weeks as the next assignment starts on Nov 1st. Hope to get some crafting done between now and then.

If you have not been to my blog before Welcome. If you are wondering what WOYWW is If you have not already been to this blog then pop over to Julia’s stamping ground and see what everyone is talking about, and visit some fantastic peoples work.

Last week I mentioned Happy Stampers at Port Sunlight was on Saturday. It was a great day I did not spend much - which was a change for me, I was very restrained. I met Tracy and gave her, her ticket - it was lovely to meet you. First stop was to see Jean & Malcolm on the Crafty Individuals stand I always go there first as I spend most of my money with them on the sale table - got lots of lovely bits - some stamps, Mini canvases, some MR bits TH Embossing Folders, a note box holder some triple frames and some Croco crackle glaze. I popped by to see Jozart on the Stampattack stand to give her her blog candy. I was good there and only bought one TH ink pad Spun Sugar. Then it was off to The StampMan to see Jill & Vix. Got some Bits & Bobs from there but not in my photo mmmm wonder where that bag got to probably still in the car oh well more treasure to find when I get a chance. Over to Jennie (Artistic Stamper) Stamp Connection and bought some mini bobbins. Then onto Linda at Lost coast Designs to get some fantastic border stamps.

Finally I would like to mention that Robert from Once Upon a Stamp returned to demoing and it was lovely to see him and watch him play!! oh we did laugh thanks Robert you are still a star, and always will be. Gordon and Michelle please make sure you come back with him next year, even if you have to drag him kicking and screaming into the hall!!!!!

Anyway folks I hope to get around as many desks as I can this week but if I do not get to you I am sorry. Take care one and all and have a happy crafty week.

Book of Stamps

Tuesday Taggers I needed some storage for some stamps I have so made this book from mount board (love this stuff) the background on the board is made with Tim Holtz Mustard seed and Worn Lipstick distress inks smooshed onto the board worn lipstick ink then dabbed onto sequin waste to make this checked effect the word Stamps was stenciled with TH letter stencils and spritzed with water and allowed to dry overnight. The two bird stamps stamped onto the front are stamps I made using TH alterations Sizxix Dye amid stamped in Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord distress ink. The edge finished off with a black marker pen. This is one of a few books I am going to make for my rubber stamp collection. Inside I have used some ATC pockets that hold 9 ATCs cut down to make three pages. I added some rings to the side and will add some ribbon at a later date to the rings - hope you like what you see.

All Autumn

Tag You're It theme this week is Autumn - here is my offering the Image is a Tilda stamp I have had for a while the background is made from Burnt Orange and Granite ink Altered Originals sprays by Dyan at Art from The Heart my prize from Tuesday Taggers a few weeks ago. From Trash to Ritches!!!!!

Last weekend I went to a car boot -" long deep breath in and a smile";o) I often buy stuff put it in my to do corner which is a dumping ground for this and that. Lots of stuff I am going to do one day but don't seem to do it - Well I was spurred on this week by being the lucky winner on Tuesday Taggers for 20th July the prize of 8 bottles of Altered Originals Ink sprays by Dyan of ART FROM THE HEART fame ;o) again (LDBIAAS) where can I put them I thought? - well I had brought a rather dirty cutlery drawer liner for 50p, yes 50p from the Car Boot sale - that was just waiting to be altered Below is the first picture of it cleaned up.

I took out the dividers, cut them down to fit the other way around. I only had to join one piece to make the last shelf. I reinforced this shelf with mound board.

I then sprayed a piece of hammered cream card with the Lime the Jade and the Fuchsia Inks I had won. Using a baby wipe I blended the inks together, then sprayed again over the top with the three colours of ink, I love this effect. I then ripped the card ready to edge the shelves. Cut out the word Create from the remainder of the card to crown the very top shelf. See below for a picture of a section of the card .

Now for the fun part
I love to combine my pottery and my crafting skills, and over the years have made various clay embellishments from various types of clay. Porcelain, stoneware and terracotta. I have been saving these for an arty project.
So combining these and the card, I embellished the edges of the shelves.

The shelf unit was put in its new home - on a cupboard door to the side of my desk, so everything is to hand.

I then proceeded to fill the shelves with the sprays, and my collection of Tim Holtz Alcohol inks and Dabbers. I am sooo chuffed with the finished project. It took me the best part of Sunday afternoon. It was a horrid day outside and all my HW was done - Yeh right !!!

Anyway below is my 50p shelf unit project. 50p well spent I think!!!!!

Thanks for reading to the bottom of this epic. I am offering a small amount of blog candy. It will be a surprise box of goodies, there might be a few pottery embellishments and other bits and pieces, just leave me a comment on this post and say if you want to be added to the draw.

I will pick out a name from a hat on the

1st September

Yes I do have a hat!!!!!!

good luck you have to be in it to win it.

PS. I have just noticed, there are 2 little pieces of other peoples art in the photos. If you spot your work I will send you a little something for a bit of fun!!!!! you have my email add.

The first fairy (LEFT) has a face made from a Crafty Individuals image with glossy accents over the top. Tuesday Taggers

Todays Tuesday Taggers challenge is to make a canvas and to link to ART FROM THE HEART. So using a piece of Mountboard to use as a canvas. I coloured It with Tim Holtz Distress inks the colours I used are Antique Linen - Spiced Marigold - Peeled Paint, and Mustard Seed. I stamped using a Magenta stamp I have had for years with Adirondack Dye ink pad (Bottle) I also stamped using Tim Holtz Visual Artistry collection Stampers Anonymous word stamp (see below). coloured with Spiced Marigold and Pumice Stone and edged with Shabby Shutters.

Using the waste from Sequin manufacture as a mask I coloured the corners with Shabby Shutters. I watercoloured the flowers with Mustard seed and blended the dye ink to give a tonal effect. I added some paper flowers stamped with a word stamp using the same colour for all the flowers which was Shabby Shutters. Added flower buttons and a porcelain butterfly which I made myself at a pottery class. I added a few word stamps stamped in Bottle and some Papermania Adhesive Shimmer Dots. all hung from hanger from The Rusty Tin company. (Just looked on their web site don't think they do these any more) If anyone reading this knows where I can get another could you please let me know - thanks for popping by. Pop over to Tuesday Taggers to see some fabulous work.

Black White and a touch of Gold

This weeks offering for Tag you're it! challenge

Materials and Method:

First of all I cut a piece of White Mount board to size. I then used a Butterfly Kisses stamp to stamp the background in black Stazon. I die cut a bird cage using a Tim Holtz Alterations BIGZ Die from funky foam and made this into a rubber stamp. I stamped the cage onto prepared tag shaped black card with Versafine and embossed it using gold embossing powder. I then cut a second cage from black card and also cut a bird from the same Die plate from gold mirror card. I then embossed the bird and wing with Tim Holtz embossing folder.
Using Black Stazon ink I smooshed over the embossing to bring out the detail

I placed the bird over the embossed cage. I mounted the black bird cage slightly off centre of the embossed cage using foam pads I then placed the wing over the front cage to give it depth.
I added both a gold jewel and a black one on top of each other to make a beady eye.

I added some paper black and White paper flowers and placed a jewel in the middle of each flower. I added some brads to the corners of the black card to look like studs and coloured them with gold marker pen I also added some chain detail with a gold marker pen and went over it with some real wire to make it look like chain.

I hope you like my offering this week I enjoyed using the Die and am quite pleased with the result I got from making the stamp. Thanks for looking I very much appreciate you taking time to leave comments, Have a good week whatever you do I hope you have a crafty time.

I cheated a bit Me thinks!!!!

Tuesday Taggers this week the theme is Anniversaries - this is a card I made for my OH last month for our 25Th Wedding Anniversary. I have loads of stash I could have used, stash that is a lot nicer than this but thought all these things went together and when all said and done we have soo much stuff like this that we dont use - well I do anyway. The base of the card is a good piece of very heavy card then there is a piece of very nice holographic card with dots and lines on it, a piece of silver mirror card embossed with cuttlebug embossing folder, doflex stickers and some peel offs!!!! again ooo errr this is becoming a habit!!! sometimes though they fit the bill sorry to all the anti peel off brigade, I have a draw full of them if anyone wants some???? Anyway my hubby loved his card so that is the most important thing the sentiment inside reads "WHERE THERE IS GREAT LOVE, THERE ARE ALWAYS MIRACLES!!!!!!! mush mush - thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments last week. Thank you also to the new people who are following my journey in blog land.

Monday's Bit of Madnes

This tag was made for the Tag Your It Theme for this week which is By The Beach - first of all I cut the tag from white mount board used Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky TH distress inks and a few splashes of water to make the sky - water background - using a piece of turquoise organza I pleated it across the tag and stuck it down with PVA. I left it to dry for about an hour stamped a Tanda Stamp Gallion using Stormy sky again and stamped around the edge of the top of the tag with a recent free stamp from Craft Stamper also stamped same stamp 3 times in the Faded Jeans stormy sky and a Marvy Teal ink and glossy accented the shells - I also used real small shells to embellish the foreground and edged the water with stickles star dust. Finally I coloured the foreground with brown Marvy pen and drew in some birds with a fine line pen. I am very pleased with the results. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Tidy still

My Desk and projects today

My desk is still tidy - tried to clean it up each time I have worked on it - wonder how long this will last. For WOYWW today are a few things I have been working on over the last week - Propped up are Three ATCs for the Stamp Man's first Challenge (Wings)- see below for a close up version of one of them. In the foreground is a card I made for Tuesday Taggers (make a Scene) to the right of that i s a Tag made for Tag Your It - see large photo above (Uncle Sam) being the theme - found this hard as did not have anything to do with America so got the image from Google and printed the words off the computer and added some ribbon and stars - think it turned out well. Also on the table are a couple of ATCs one being a BRAK (Birthday Random Act of Kindness) and one being a CRAK (Christmas Random Act if Kindness). That's it for this week folks have a lovely crafty week - thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments last week.
