I took out the dividers, cut them down to fit the other way around. I only had to join one piece to make the last shelf. I reinforced this shelf with mound board.
I then sprayed a piece of hammered cream card with the Lime the Jade and the Fuchsia Inks I had won. Using a baby wipe I blended the inks together, then sprayed again over the top with the three colours of ink, I love this effect. I then ripped the card ready to edge the shelves. Cut out the word Create from the remainder of the card to crown the very top shelf. See below for a picture of a section of the card .
Now for the fun part
I love to combine my pottery and my crafting skills, and over the years have made various clay embellishments from various types of clay. Porcelain, stoneware and terracotta. I have been saving these for an arty project.
So combining these and the card, I embellished the edges of the shelves.
The shelf unit was put in its new home - on a cupboard door to the side of my desk, so everything is to hand.
I then proceeded to fill the shelves with the sprays, and my collection of Tim Holtz Alcohol inks and Dabbers. I am sooo chuffed with the finished project. It took me the best part of Sunday afternoon. It was a horrid day outside and all my HW was done - Yeh right !!!
Anyway below is my 50p shelf unit project. 50p well spent I think!!!!!
