Handmade Christmas Decorations

Good morning

Christmas will be here before we know it, so time is precious and so is money! here are some decorations I made for the tree at the Craft Shop at Lady Green Garden Centre where I work, all made with paper. I have always enjoyed quilling so I had a go at using some Paper star paper from The Craft Shop online.

I think they have turned out ok.

Have a lovely Wednesday whatever you do.

Early Bird catches the worm

Morning all, up early looking forward to another day at work. Couple of things to sort out before I go - hence the early start, and still keeping to my promise to blog every day for seven days. Hope you all have a happy MmWwaA.

This is a frame I altered a couple of months ago for a lovely friend, the frame was from B&M discount stores and cost £3.99 I used some of my favorite Dylusions paints from a range designed exclusively for Art from the Heart by Dyan Reaveley to decorate it. I also used some of my favorite word stamps. I hope you like it.

Have a great Tuesday whatever you do

Monday madness

Hi all I still can not work out why blogger did not like my photo of my broaches, but that is sorted now.

Blogger has let me upload this lovely photo - YAY!!!! so hope I don't have any more problems as I have lots of things to show you this week.

This photo is of some swans at Martin Mere a couple of weeks ago. I love the gracefulness of Swans. It was a lovely Autumn afternoon spent with Anna & Robert my two lovely kids - they are both keen photographers with super cameras - I took this with my point and shoot cheep camera - and love the result. I hope you like them too.

7 days of blogging - I hope

I am going to try and blog each day now for the next 7 days.

FUN AT WORK TODAY

Amy Shaw, Lemon Drizzle cake & Reindeer

Where I work in The Craft Shop at Lady Green Garden Centre, it was very busy today. We were lucky to have Amy Shaw in the shop, she came to do a day of Demos; she is lovely. Amy did some gorgeous Christmas cards using Woodware stamps and the crafty edger punches.” Something I must put on my Christmas list.” Mmmmm - Note to self (Must start using some of my craft purchases in the New Year!!!!!) Lemon Drizzle cake was the cake of the day,

it seemed to go down well.

The main shop was very busy too with the Grotto opening – Santa arrived with real reindeer , they were sooo cute and soft. The queue to see Santa was 2 hours at one point so we had a lot of Mums popping into the shop! While Dads and Nans stood in the queue.

Looking forward to a quiet Sunday.

WOYWW

Good Morning all, thanks for popping by today. Hope you are all well today, and you have not been blown away with all the winds we have been having this week. Last weekend was a very busy one. Friday, I travelled to Skipton to pick up my lovely friend Janet for a crafty weekend. We stopped off at Scotch corner for a rendezvous with two lovely friends. Singing to Shania Twain all the way. We were on our way to Washington Services to meet up with some lovely docrafts crafty friends for a pre weekend meal.

We have met for the last 4 years, at first we all met on the Docrafts ATC Forum but a lot of us now only make them to swap at meets, we have moved on to other crafts and a lot of us now Blog.
We met up on Saturday morning at a village hall from all over the country, some travelling many miles to be there some a few more than needed less said about that the better. We arrived just in time to sing Happy Birthday to Yvonne . There were demonstrations including, foiling, Ribbon and Paper flower making, colouring with pro markers, and distress ink techniques. Lots of chat, ((HUGS)) I think some people got some crafting done!!!!! I always love catching up with people and chatting. For most people the Lunch of the day was Fish and Chips from a local Shop (thanks to the organizers husband) Keith always does such a good job. Carole (the organizer) always does such an amazing job of making sure the day runs very smoothly. It was Carole and Keith's 45 Wedding Anniversary and it was lovely that a lady called Sue from the forum had done a collection for the happy couple, Sue had also organized other surprises, one being a mirror of tiles each made by the people at the meet. Carole has set a challenge for the last two years, this year was to decorate an Ikea mirror then they are swapped - see the one I made below. Very kindly Carole and Keith had invited the people staying over on the Saturday night to their house for a buffet and chat - Janet and I had a lovely time, then travelled back to our Travelodge.

Sunday, Janet and I travelled to Harrogate to the GNPS which was brilliant as usual and not too busy. We met up with Georgina and Joanne her daughter and lots of other crafty Scottish friends. I spent a little bit of money mmmmm!!!! We then went to Art From The Heart, This was the first time I had been to the shop - OH WOW!!!! I was like a kid in a sweet shop yum yum managed to do a workshop with Dyan Reaveley's paints and sprays, a lovely way to finish off my weekend.

Below is my first Christmas card I made last week along with some of my purchases from the weekend.

So, if you have not been to my blog before, Welcome. If you are wondering what WOYWW is. If you have not already been to this blog then pop over to Julia’s stamping ground and see what everyone is talking about, and visit some fantastic peoples work from all around the world.

Enjoy your Wednesday whatever you do - I'm off to Skipton for another crafty weekend on my first Loving Ink craft retreat.

MMMMMWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAA to all those people I will be seeing this weekend.

Late post for WOYWW

Hello to all my lovely followers and an apology - I am sorry I have not been blogging recently but I do hope that this will change over the next few weeks. Watch this space.

I am not close to my craft desk at the mo so will not be showing you that on WOYWW but I have some news to share with you all.

I am chuffed I got my A Level Art result and I received an A* I did not think I had done enough to get the grade so was very shocked.

Here is one of the pieces of work I produced during my final year. It is a piece of abstract Batik work of the two liver birds on top of the liver buildings. I found this hard to do as I had not done anything like this before. I must say I like the resulting piece of work very much.

I wanted to make the images look as if they were in the Mersey and I think this worked.

If you have not been to my blog before, Welcome. If you are wondering what

Hello folks

I am not posting today from my home in Liverpool I am posting from Northumberland. My OH and I are staying in a gorgeous 5* B&B and are being totally spoilt.
So my work space today is a small table overlooking the grounds, where I have seen rabbits, an owl and many other birds. So for WOYWW today is my laptop and my trusty bits and pieces bag and a stamped and coloured Tatty Button image. Have a good WOYWW everyone.

Hello my blogging friends. I did not think I would be able to get here today as lots has happened to me this last week. Some good and some bad the good was that I got my contract from my new job – I have been there 3 months where did that go!!!! The bad was that although I was supposed to be staying on at my old firm until September, last week I was told on Thursday that I would not be needed after Friday oh well at least it means that I will have more time to blog and do some crafting.

On my desk today is one of my latest Liverpool themed paintings I hope you like it, it took me 5 hours to paint, it is watercolour and pen .

April Hello

Hello to all out there in blog land.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine!!! and all that spring brings.

Life is busy busy busy at the moment. (sorry this next bit is a bit newsy!!!)

In February I was told I was going to be made redundant - It had been on the cards for some time but it still came as a bit of a shock.

Anyway I have been looking for another job over the last 2 years and have applied for quite a few jobs and not had a reply from any of them. Anyway I applied for a part time job in a new craft shop in a garden centre and got one of the 4 part time jobs going. My old company have decided they want me to stay until they close possibly in September so now I have 2 part time jobs and an A level art to complete but hey ho it is keeping me busy. Unfortunately I have not had any time to play recently - well not at home anyway, I have done some demos at the craft shop and made a few cards crafting and being paid to play!! - oh sorry and being paid to sell products and demonstrate - such hard work it is too - lol!!!! I have uploaded some photos of the workshop I did at Art From The Heart workshop at Harrogate - it was lovely to spend the day there and play with all the lovely Dylusion ink sprays and learn lots of new techniques from the master Dyan herself it was good fun and I loved the little book we made - hope you like it. Well folks I have promised myself I am going to TRY and get on here at least once a month.

Thanks for looking - I hope to be back before Easter but if not here is a card I made this week at work - we had sold out of Happy Easter Peel offs but had lots of alphabets so made this out of scraps.

SIMPLE!!!!!!!
